News from the Werner-von-Siemens Hauptschule

On November 18, a speaker and media educator visited the Werner-von-Siemens School in Bochum and held a workshop for Year 5 children on how to use social media. The workshop consisted of a lecture part, in which the speaker talked about social networks and their dangers, and an interactive part, in which the children had to develop their own content on how to use social networks. At the end, the children were able to get creative themselves and design a network tailored to their favorite topics. The children had a lot of fun!

In March, ex-professional footballer Felix Herzenbruch came to the Werner-von-Siemens School and visited the “Fußball trifft Kultur” group. He read to the children from his book and gave them plenty of time to ask questions. The reading was full of highlights. “The fact that Felix won the DFB Cup against reigning champions Bayern Leverkusen really thrilled us all,” said one of the children after the reading.
