On May 17, part of the Magdeburg FtK group attended the last game of the season of 1. FC Magdeburg. The team played against 1. FC Nürnberg. Despite the defeat, FC Magdeburg gave their best until the end and showed great commitment. The weather was really nice and the children had a lot of fun watching the professionals in the stadium. For many, it was a special experience to experience the atmosphere in the stadium and cheer on their team live.

At the beginning of March 2026, the Magdeburg FtK group visited the city library in Florapark in Magdeburg together with their trainer and teacher. There, the children were warmly welcomed by the staff and given a tour of the premises. The pupils learned that you can not only borrow books in a library, but also games, audio books and magazines. They also learned how to behave in a library and which different book genres are available there. The children were then able to explore the premises on their own. Together, the “Fußball trifft Kultur” group also chose a book that the children would now like to read in their FtK German lessons. The children really enjoyed the excursion and the FtK team hopes that this will motivate them to visit the library in the future and borrow books there. To round off the excursion, all the children were treated to an ice cream.

The FTK Magdeburg indoor tournament took place for the second time on December 12, 2025. Magdeburg once again hosted a regional soccer tournament in which 7 teams competed. It was a great pleasure for all the children and especially for the team that won the tournament. Many thanks to all the organizers on site in Magdeburg!

In mid-September 2025, the FtK group received a visit from professional Magdeburg footballer Isabell Münch. The 1. FC Magdeburg striker and project sponsor took a lot of time to answer the children’s questions and, together with the group’s coach and teacher, she then took part in the soccer session. The children were very excited about this surprise!

At the beginning of March 2025, the FtK group went on a trip to Magdeburg Zoo. The visit to the zoo was a complete success and the weather also played along. The children had the opportunity to experience an exciting guided tour on the topic of “Animals from Africa”. We saw majestic elephants, elegant giraffes and impressive lions. The children’s enthusiasm was simply infectious and they learned lots of new things. It was an unforgettable afternoon full of fun and adventure and a great experience!
